On 5 June 1971, the International Tchoukball Federation (FITB) was founded from humble beginnings with the very first members, Switzerland and France. Today we celebrate our 50th anniversary as an organisation together with our members. Tchoukball is played in all 5 sporting continents, with member federations in 4 of them. To mark this great occasion, the FITB is proud to present a video of tchoukball played over these last 50 years:
The International Tchoukball Federation (FITB) has officially become a member of The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA). The TAFISA World Congress 2019 was held in Tokyo, Japan in November with the TAFISA General Assembly 2019 taking place on 15th November. FITB President Mr Fang Shen Szu represented the FITB, attending the congress and the General Assembly.
Following the recent acceptance of the Democratic Republic of Congo as an FITB member during the General Assembly this August in Malaysia, the activities in their National Federation (FECOTCHOUK) are proceeding at an amazing pace. On the 12th and 13th November, the first FITB C Coach course was held in the capital Kinshasa with the participation of local athletes and physical education teachers.
On the 13th and 14th July, the first FITB C level coaching course was held in Peru in the capital city of Lima. The course was conducted by the Brazilian FITB coach Archimedes de Moura Junior who was very optimistic regarding the development and future of tchoukball among the Peruvians.
Chris Huang, Former FITB President from 2009-2017 visited Mongolia and Laos this April to run FITB C coaching courses. The C level courses are designed for new countries to have groups of people capable of teaching tchoukball to others. Chris was approached during the Asia-Pacific Tchoukball Federation General Assembly and was only too happy to assist these new countries in the development of tchoukball.
