1) International Promotion

 Philippines

In early May and late June, Mr Jeff Ang (FITB Vice General Secretary) visited Philippines twice to promote Tchoukball in Cebu, Bacolod and Davao. The promotion was very well received and Philippines has now set up their national federation – Philippines Tchoukball Federation (PTF), applied for FITB membership and send their national men and M18 boys teams to participate in the Asia Pacific Tchoukball Championships.

Thailand

Mr Jeff Ang (FITB Vice General Secretary) was in the city of Bangkok to introduce Tchoukball from 22-24 May. The visit took place just 1 week after the widely reported riots but the majority of the city was peaceful and the promotion went ahead smoothly. Thailand subsequently sent a combined national team with players from Bangkok and Chiang Mai (Tchoukball was introduced there last year) for the Asia Pacific Tchoukball Championships. They are currently working to set up a national federation.

 Angola

Mr Julio Calegari (Director of International Promotion) visited Angola on 29-31 May 2010 to conduct a Tchoukball seminar for 35 participants. They have set up the Luanda Provincial Association with 5 club teams, the first step towards the creation of the national federation.

 2) Tchoukball Competitions & Festivals

FITB Rimini Beach Tchoukball Festival 2010

This year’s Rimini Beach Tchoukball Festival is over with a great success, surpassing the record of players and teams of the past editions - 1070 people involved, 126 teams for 4 tournaments, 612 matches played on 18 fields located on almost 1 km of beach!

Also for the first time, the Slam Tournament was organized and 18 teams took part, with the best Tchoukballers from all over the world in spectacular actions. The winner of this tournament was ROCTBA, the team trained by Mr Fang Shen Szu.

The atmosphere was great as usual. Rimini Beach Tchoukball Festival confirms itself as the biggest beach tchoukball tournament and as the leading meeting place of the Tchoukballers from all over the world. We are all looking forward to the next edition.
