Paraguay
In November 2008, with the support of the FITB, the brazilian physical education teacher Silvia Echeverria and Nicodemos Filgueiras Junior went to Asuncion for the first tchoukball workshop, held in the Escuela Nacional de Educacion Fisica. Now the Paraguayans are working hard to create their national association and to prepare their male and female team to go to Sao Paulo in 2010 for the South American Tchoukball Tournament. UAE
In march 2006 the FITB got the first contact in the UAE via the physical education inspector, mr Mohamed Zaghdoud. Since july 2006 the director of international development, mr Julio Calegari is living in Dubai and from there traveling to promote tchoukball to many countries. Mr Zaghdoud and mr Calegari are working very hard for the promotion of tchoukball in the UAE and with support of the Ministry of Education and the Sharjah Education Zone, many presentation where held in the countries and a project of inclusion of tchoukball in all the 14 Children centers of the emirate of Sharjah. The UAE national team already took part in 2 international competition (Kaohsiung WarmUp 2007 and HongKong Asian Tournament 2008) and now the registration of the national association is in process. Mr Zaghdoud is also the responsable for the first translations of the tchoukball rules to arabic and along with Nabiha Houais their are, since 2008, the first arabic FIT! New contacts
FITB continues to work intensively on the international promotion of tchoukball. Recently we established some new contacts in Portugal, Spain, Chile, Uruguay and Cameroon. Introduction courses in tchoukball are already scheduled in Malta and Slovakia for September and we hope that we soon will have some new countries joining the FITB Family.
Ghana
In July 2007, Mr Alfred Kobina Arthur met Julio Calegari in Accra and expressed his interest on promoting tchoukball in Ghana. Activities took of in the beginning of 2009 when some presentation on tchoukball were held. Mr Arthur worked very hard with his contacts and we are pleased to announce that Ghana is the first African Tchoukball Association to become member of FITB. Kenya
The FITB representative in Nairobi is the young student and player Kennedy Miruka. He learnt to know and enjoy tchoukball at the Starehe Boy school and is now holding regular pratices also at the Nairobi University. Every 3 month Julio Calegari goes to Kenya for training sessions and also to get some new contacts with other school interested on promoting tchoukball. Pakistan
From Faisalabad comes Mr Emmanuel Asad, who is the very passionate promoter of tchoukball in Pakistan. Julio Calegari has so far been twice to Pakistan (April 2007 and August 2008) for presentations and training camps. Tchoukball is growing very fast in Pakistan. In only 2 years Mr Assad and his team have already organised several presentations, training camps, tournaments, three days friendly matches in India and also the creation and affiliation of their national association to the FITB.
Colombia
In March 2006, invited by the physical education teacher Mr Enrique Lara, Julio Calegari went for a 3 days tchoukball seminar to the University of Cali in Colombia. All the participants were physical education teachers and students. After this event they started to organise activities in other schools and universities. Recently the national federation was created (Federacion Colombiana de Tchoukball – FCTB) and they have now as main goal for 2010 the participation with a men and women team in the South American continental championships, which are planed take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
